Which office it fits

Best fit: a large office of thirty people or more, or a print room. Fewer people? The IM 5000 does 50 pages a minute.

Grades, payment and setup

Choose the IM 6000 renewed, refurbished or used. Every unit is checked, and its page count reaches you in writing before you choose. Pay outright, or take a rental or lease on a term of up to 60 months, set by the machine's age. Included in the price: delivery, network installation, scanning setup and a walk through for your staff.

On a service agreement, a machine that fails is replaced, for the whole term. Rental is from $15 a week plus GST for selected machines, finance is subject to approval, and at the end of the term you can upgrade or hand it back.

Checks before you buy secondhand

  • Pages printed so far. The count comes to you in writing. It says more about wear than the year on the badge.
  • Options fitted. A finisher, more drawers or a high capacity tray change the work it can take on, and the figure you pay.
  • Service after the sale. Secondhand only pays off while someone keeps it running. We do not sell a machine we cannot service.
  • Cost per page. Get the mono and colour rates in writing, with what each one covers.

Replacement warranty

Machine fails? It gets replaced. Right to the end of the term.

Put any machine on our service agreement and the replacement warranty comes with it. New or secondhand, and whether you rent, lease, finance or buy outright, the rule is the same: should the machine fail, you get a replacement. The cover runs to the final day of the agreement, not the end of year one.

On a new copier the maker's own warranty is usually 12 months, on the hardware only; consumables sit outside it. Beyond that year, your cover is the service agreement. Your agreement sets out the full terms of the replacement warranty.

Questions

Ricoh IM 6000: common questions

Can you still buy a new IM 6000?

No. Ricoh has since brought out the IM 6010. Secondhand is the way to get one now, and we do not sell a machine we cannot service.

What page count will a secondhand IM 6000 have?

It varies from machine to machine. You get the exact count in writing before you choose, and it tells you more than the year it was made.

Should I choose the IM 6000 or the IM 5000?

Same series, different pace: 60 pages a minute against 50. Tell us how many people print and we say which fits.

Is the IM 6000 available on rental?

Yes, subject to approval. On selected machines rental is from $15 a week plus GST, and at the end of the term you can upgrade or hand it back. Ask about this one and the figures come to you in writing.
