Sharp built the MX 4071 as the 40 page a minute member of its MX 3071 series, introduced in 2018. The rest of the series runs as follows: the MX 3071 at 30, the MX 3571 at 35, the MX 5071 at 50 and the MX 6071 at 60 pages a minute. By the maker's figures, it handles double sided originals in a single pass at speeds up to 110 images a minute, takes 650 sheets as supplied and 6,300 with paper options added and handles card as heavy as 300 gsm.
