The machine

Where does the IM C2000 sit? At the entry point of Ricoh's IM C range. Those were the first copiers to wear the IM name, and they arrived in 2019 to take over from the MP colour range. Copy, print and scan in colour up to A3, all from Ricoh's Smart Operation Panel.

Its body is shared with the IM C2500, which runs at 25 pages a minute; speed is the only difference. Further up the range come the IM C3000 and IM C3500, then the IM C4500 and IM C6000.

For a small office, twenty pages a minute is enough.

Which office it fits

Up to about ten people, A3 now and then, and modest colour volumes. More people printing? Compare the IM C2500 (25 pages a minute) and the IM C3500 (35).

Grades, payment and setup

On our list the IM C2000 comes refurbished or used. Every unit is checked, and its page count reaches you in writing before you choose. Pay outright, or take a rental or lease on a term of up to 60 months; the machine's age sets the longest term. Included in the price: delivery, network installation, scanning setup and a walk through for your staff.

Put it on a service agreement and our replacement warranty runs for the full term: a machine that fails is replaced. Rental is from $15 a week plus GST for selected machines, finance is subject to approval, and at the end of the term you can upgrade or hand it back.

Checks before you buy secondhand

  • Pages printed so far. The count comes to you in writing. It says more about wear than the year on the badge.
  • Options fitted. A finisher, more drawers or a high capacity tray change the work it can take on, and the figure you pay.
  • Service after the sale. Secondhand only pays off while someone keeps it running. We do not sell a machine we cannot service.
  • Cost per page. Get the mono and colour rates in writing, with what each one covers.

Replacement warranty

Machine fails? It gets replaced. Right to the end of the term.

Put any machine on our service agreement and the replacement warranty comes with it. New or secondhand, and whether you rent, lease, finance or buy outright, the rule is the same: should the machine fail, you get a replacement. The cover runs to the final day of the agreement, not the end of year one.

On a new copier the maker's own warranty is usually 12 months, on the hardware only; consumables sit outside it. Beyond that year, your cover is the service agreement. Your agreement sets out the full terms of the replacement warranty.

Questions

Ricoh IM C2000: your questions

Is the Ricoh IM C2000 worth buying?

For a small office with modest colour volumes, it is. It starts a range Ricoh built in 2019 to take over from its MP colour copiers. On any secondhand unit, the page count and service history count most, and both come to you from us.

IM C2000 vs IM C2500: which one?

The IM C2500 is the IM C2000 with five more pages a minute, 25 against 20. If two or three more people print, it earns its place. If not, the IM C2000 handles the work for a lower outlay.

Which model followed the Ricoh IM C2000?

The IM C2010, from Ricoh's 2023 IM C range.

Can a refurbished IM C2000 be rented?

It can, subject to approval, on a term of up to 60 months that depends on the machine's age. Rental is from $15 a week plus GST for selected machines.
