The machine

What is the MC873? OKI's MC800 series covers A3 colour multifunctions, and the MC873, launched in 2015, is its 35 page a minute model. Printing is done by OKI's LED engine, and copying and scanning work up to A3. It can live on a desk or bench, or on the stand OKI makes for it.

Sold by OKI through dealers only, the ES8473 MFP is the Executive Series twin of this machine, and OKI uses the same photographs for both. OKI Australia ended sales in December 2025; its list shows support until 31 December 2032.

Which office it fits

Want A3 colour without handing a full copier's worth of floor to it? Around 10,000 pages a month or fewer? Then this is the fit. OKI's rating for a heavy month is 75,000. Printing more than that? Step up to a full size A3 copier.

Grades, payment and setup

On our list the MC873 or ES8473 comes refurbished or used. Every unit is checked, and its page count reaches you in writing before you choose. Pay outright, or take a rental or lease on a term of up to 60 months; the machine's age sets the longest term. Included in the price: delivery, network installation, scanning setup and a walk through for your staff.

Put it on a service agreement and our replacement warranty runs for the full term: a machine that fails is replaced. Rental is from $15 a week plus GST for selected machines, finance is subject to approval, and at the end of the term you can upgrade or hand it back.

Checks before you buy secondhand

Pages printed so far. The count comes in writing, and on an OKI it is a better guide than the age.
Drums and fuser. Both wear as pages go through. Ask how much life each has left before you choose.
Options fitted. Extra trays, a stand, a duplex unit: each one changes what the machine can handle.

Replacement warranty

Machine fails? It gets replaced. Right to the end of the term.

Put any machine on our service agreement and the replacement warranty comes with it. New or secondhand, and whether you rent, lease, finance or buy outright, the rule is the same: should the machine fail, you get a replacement. The cover runs to the final day of the agreement, not the end of year one.

On a new copier the maker's own warranty is usually 12 months, on the hardware only; consumables sit outside it. Beyond that year, your cover is the service agreement. Your agreement sets out the full terms of the replacement warranty.

ES8473 vs MC873: any difference?

Only the badge. OKI sold the ES8473 MFP through dealers; body and speed match the MC873.

MC873 vs MC853: which one?

Same body. The MC873 prints 35 pages a minute and the MC853 23, and the MC873 is designed for a bigger monthly load.

Is a refurbished OKI MC873 available on rental?
